The Quicken Tax Freedom Project is a philanthropic initiative that donates federal and state Web-based tax preparation and electronic tax filing services to lower income individuals and families. If you're one of the approximately 60 million American taxpayers with an adjusted gross income of $25,000 or less, you qualify for free online tax preparation and filing with TurboTax for the Web through the Quicken Tax Freedom Project. Eligible taxpayers can take advantage of all of the functionality of TurboTax for the Web 1040 Regular and 1040EZ. In addition to preparing your return with TurboTax for the Web, you can also file your return electronically, slashing the time it takes to get your refund from six weeks to as little as 10 days. Intuit began this philanthropic initiative in 1998, and last year more than 1.5 million taxpayers filed their tax returns for FREE using the Quicken Tax Freedom Project. The Quicken Tax Freedom Project applies to both the preparation and filing of your federal and one state individual income tax return. It is available now through October 16, 2002. Who qualifies for Quicken Tax Freedom? To qualify for Quicken Tax Freedom you must have an adjusted gross income (income after tax deductions) of $25,000 or less - AND - you must always access TurboTax for the Web through this special Quicken Tax Freedom promotional web-page. You can come back and work on your return as many times as you need from any computer with Internet access, but you must come back through this special web-page. We recommend you bookmark this page so you can get back to it easily. At the end of the tax preparation process, when you are ready to print or file your return, TurboTax for the Web will calculate your adjusted gross income. If it is $25,000 or less, then you will not be charged. If your adjusted gross income is higher than $25,000, or you access TurboTax through a web page other than this one, then you do not qualify for Quicken Tax Freedom and will be asked to pay the regular price for TurboTax for the Web. |
