I had the same charge from Switzerland on AMEX. I had already paid it, since it was so little and I thought maybe my husband bought something and forgot to tell me. I called, they took it off, I told them how I found out about it, and they are referring it to their fraud department. Thanks for the heads up! |

Whoever is doing this is sophisticated with this scam. Someone on another board said that the Viha Unahmes charge on her AMEX card was for $1500.00 So everyone watch out. I guess now these creeps are trying to use small amounts in hopes that the cardholders won't notice.

No, it is not just AMEX that this is happening to. I have an AT&T Universal Card Mastercard and my statement this month had a charge for $17.90 from "Payment Services" in Switzerland. We have not used this card for at least six months so I was shocked to see a charge on there. I called CS and they are investigating the charge right now.

I wonder how they got the CC #'s. Did you all shop at the same internet store or mail order? There should be a connection. Would be interesting to find out.

Same as doglover. The charge was on my AMEX Green which I almost never used period, and don't think I ever used online. In fact, the charge came after I cancelled the card--so it was doubly suspicious. Hence, I don't think the fraud was from an internet site.
