Thanks for the heads-up, I'm in the market for a cheap back-up monitor. But I think posting Staples codes on DoD is a no-no? I'm not going so far as to report the post (monitors will find it on their own, I'm sure!) but would hate to see you or DoD get into hot water...

No hot water here. The coupon code I've given is actually directly from the staples site. I don't believe they have any objections to it being posted, seeing as they post it themselves. What staples objects to are the "$ off" coupon codes, which I have cleverly merely alluded to in my post. I will cheerfully allow the moderators to edit my post if my understanding is incorrect. All they need to do is to cut out that coupon code...which is no big deal since you will find it as soon as you find the item anyway!

Ah, so. The monitor is on its way as we speak (let the UPS guy lug it around!). But I do think the laptop case deal requires laptop purchase in order for the $40 code to work (my reading). The $60 rebate is, as you said, stand-alone and should work with one of those not-to-be-mentioned discount codes. Thanks again!

hey netwrx, I'm really, really angry that you edited my post. Now all that good work I did to bring the deal here is down the drain. he hesydnie: If you read the text on the web page it does at least imply that you have to buy a laptop. But, the official rebate coupon doesn't say anything about it. I figure the "official" paperwork is the final word. But its hard to judge sometimes when the same web site has conflicting info like this...

Got the case without the Laptop and they took $40 off! I ordered this case yesterday and the code (which shall remain nameless) was accepted. Just checked my order online and the case was shipped, shows a price of $99.99 less $40, plus $3.60 tax. So after the $60 rebate my final cost will be a whopping $3.59! Life is good!
