Its a cheap attempt to hop onto the "game feedback" bandwagon...
In the gaming world, "feedback" peripherals are getting popular...when "you" are blown up, the joystick/wheel/etc will suddenly vibrate, theoretically giving you an "all senses" feedback (besides the sound and video).
Someone must have, er,"borrowed" the feedback circuitry and put it into a mouse. The problem is, most gamers don't use mice for these kinds of games, and who wants the stupid mouse vibrating when you are surfing the net or typing into a word processor. (That's a rhetorical question, no need to get into specific fetishes here! he he).
I'm passing on this one...its a company I don't know (will they be in business to give the rebate in 3 months?), for a product that is probably cheaply made - they rushed out and made a bunch, and they didn't sell, so now they are desperately trying to unload them via "free after rebate" sales.
I could easily be wrong on this (anyone know for sure?), but it doesn't sit comfortably with me, so I'll pass.
If it were an optical mouse...that would be a different story.
