Sure sounds like a great deal, and I'm going to pass it along to a friend whose mother was making noises about getting one... but I have to wonder, why do they have enough "refurbished" ones to advertise on Amazon? Do they get that many returned/broken/etc.? Anybody have long-term experience with this gizmo? Thanks!

sydnie,

I called my Dad first, to find just out how his Showtime is doing 8 months later and he said he uses it ALL the time and absolutely loves it. His advice: BUY IT NOW!!! Of course that's just one person's experience, but while I was talking to him I thought to also look at the reviews on Amazon and 49 people had reviewed it and it got 4 1/2 stars out of 5. Plus for $59 I'm willing to take a chance--a toaster costs that much!

I sure hope I don't end up regretting it, since I had the same doubts as you. And Did I bother to check out if it had a guarantee??? NO, I was WAY too excited! Think I'll go back right now and check that out right now.

OK, I FINALLY found the warranty info--It has a 6 month Mfg. warranty--I can live with that.

sushiosushi is welcome here
from amazon site:

Editor's note: This is a reconditioned small appliance. Reconditioned generally means that the appliance has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the appliance back to like-new condition. Some appliances may contain cosmetic blemishes. Includes a six-month factory warranty.

does this thing use a lot of electricity? don't want a scare in my electricity bill. hehe.

dibogart has great potentialdibogart has great potential
I had ordered on about two weeks ago. I just got it Wed. ..haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
This is really a hot deal. I paid for the machine and the extra accessory kit. If anyone is
thinking about it, I would say jump on it. But just keep in mind, it's a fairly big machine.
Just make sure you have the space for it in the kitchen.

HELP!!!!!

I'm pretty much an amazon newbie. If I entered in the following code that supershoppingmom provided in a different thread:

AMZNAMEXBMVD
(for $15 off $100) - exp. 9/30 (All Departments)

and i see it deducted on the final page before i finalize my order, does that mean I'll get it? Or will they adjust the amount later since my total is over 100 before all the various discounts? This takes it down another $5 to $54.99 then. Don't want to deal with them if they're like spiegel, et. al. hehe.

Thanks in advance.

At amazon what you see before you finalize the order is what you get charged. it should send you a confirmation email right after you place the order also.......another thing......if you change your mind on something before it ships out you can cancel your order.
Hope that makes sense!!!!!!!!

Well here's my review. The $319.99 price tag you see is nothing but a bunch of marketing gimmick. It might be worth that much but was never sold as high. I bought their platinum edition, which I believe is slightly larger and has digital timers, as compared to manual being offered here. In August 2000 I paid $179 reg., for my mom's birthday. Since then I saw them being sold for $75 brand new. Regardless, I think it's a good product at a good price.

Just my 2 cents...

First Sushi... why didn't you ask me about this, this afternoon??!

Ok... I got the reconditioned one when it was on sale for $79.00 (it would have been $32.00 S&H so I ordered a george foreman grill to get it to $100.00 for free S&H) and used a $10.00 off code. The whole thing was paid for with some of the MCI $150.00 GC... If I knew how great this thing was I would have paid it out of pocket and been thrilled too!! The cheapest I've seen them new has been for $149.00 though and NOT the $319.00 they advertised.

When I got it (I think it was late January) I did a thorough check (because of it being "reconditioned") and it looked perfect. No defects, and it looked shiny and brand new.

I use it all the time. I love it. It's easy to clean (a VERY important point for me), and I think it cooks very fast! I can cook a 3lb whole chicken, which is plenty big for me an my dd, in just 45 minutes!

If you ordered it, you won't regret it. If you are thinking of it and haven't yet... RUN NOW before they're all sold out!

Just an important note: These things run VERY hot!! I thought I would be able to put it on my counter with the measurements, but the instructions stress to give it space. I now use it on the top of my ceramic top oven, and I store it under counter. If I didn't have a ceramic top stove, I'm not sure where I would run it. So keep that in mind. it does do everything that corny infomercial claims.. but you can't really set it and forget it because of how hot it gets, especially if you have small children.

Thumbs up

autumn96,

Oooohh, Thanks for reassuring all of us and for bringing up one of the points my Dad mentioned and I forgot...ease of cleanup!

My Dad is the laziest butt in the world, yet one of the things he mentioned was how easy this appliance is to clean up--knowing him I found that VERY encouraging.

After S/H and accessory kit my Dad paid close to $300 for his on some kind of special deal, he DID get his brand new though. He was THRILLED because all his friends had paid $300 or over!!!

Send a message via AIM to supershoppingmom
Do this ...

Add the Rotisserie to your cart.
THEN
Add the Accessorie kit to your cart.

Once you do that, the total will be over $100 - and you'll get the free shipping.

BUT ...

When you go to check out, the cost of the accessory kit will be subtracted too ..
So you'll end up getting the accessory kit for free
AND
the free shipping!

*You will have a chance to confirm this before you hit the submit button*
