got this from FW !On July 2, 2001, American Express will replace the existing AmexOL post 1 (from another baord) Internet service fee structure and implement a simple pricing arrangement. For the first 75 hours of Internet usage each monthly billing period you will be charged $12.95. If your Internet usage exceeds 75 hours for any monthly billing period, you will be charged $29.95 for that period. When you call to cancel, they'll ask for your name, your Amexol user name, & the answer to your "secret question". So before July 2, remember to cancel, call Customer Service at (800) 281-0258 post2 Considering how they've been kind of slimy, I wouldn't trust them not to bill my Amex card even if I did NOT sign on again after the 2nd. When I called to cancel this morning, the CS rep said that they been getting slammed with calls. Amexol was great especially when it was free but $29.99? No way. post 3 You DO NEED to cancel. I just did. Make sure to cancel. You can get better deals. |

Thank you for the post, I had put off calling them and then forgotten. Thanks to you I saved the frustration of being charged. The Rep was very nice, took care of my cancellation without begging me to stay (as AOL does!). He did ask if I would like to give a reason as to leaving. I explained to him that the price is too high, I have one for $19.95month now, and if they would go to unlimited use for that price that I would prefer to be with them. I also let him know that AmEx was the best server I have every had. I did get the feeling that they are again reevaluating the service and cost. He asked me to check back on their site for future offers of ISP. Thanks again for the post. |

fyi- we use NetZero ISP for $9.99 for unlimited hours on the net also, att was doing a deal awhile back for $4.95 a month for 150 hours of internet a month, and $0.99 each additional hour you go over..... perhaps the current promo on tv is $7 for $0.07 long distance per minute + internet but i don't know how much internet hours they give you... anyway, good luck to all finding a new ISP |

Thanks BethieAlene, but no local access number with Netzero for me, dang. I downloaded the software some time ago, I guess it might be smart to check if there has been a number added that is local. hmm
