Was wondering if anyone had ordered CDs through BMG lately....I had done this years ago to build up my CD collection & I was not happy with the high shipping charges, with 1 CD shipped at a time. Overall, I still made out ahead. The offer I saw was for 14 CDs for the price of 1. Was considering doing this to help my neice add to her collection but I don't want to pay $6 per CD for shipping. Any help? |

I would really like to know this, too. I have scoured their site to find out what the shipping is on each CD, but can't find it anywhere. That should be illegal!! Should be required to tell you what it is.

This is directly from my invoice: Shipping & Handling Rates: 1st unit: $2.69 2nd unit: $2.59 All others: $2.49 each Special rates apply to muti-unit sets. S&H for three CD's was $7.77... but the CD's were on sale...so about same or little less then buying at store... ![]() They do run some GOOD SALES...My lastest sale offer was "Buy 1 at regular price, get 2 FREE" {pay S&H on all 3 CD's} so about $16.98{for reg. price CD} +$7.77 {S&H}= $24.75 divide by 3 =$8.25 each....... Not bad! |

When I bought this computer last June, I ordered the burner with it anticipating getting all this music. Although we have gotten a bunch of stuff, I have found lately that I get more transfer errors and sound problems than ones that finish nicely. Don't know if it's because I am using a 56K modem or not. I always try to download from someone with cable or DSL, but since my modem is slower, don't know if that's what causing the problem, or just that there are more people trying to beat the time when Napster will either totally close or start charging fees. I tried to download a bunch of Carpenters songs and I managed to get 3 over the course of an entire week and I am able to do it during the day when others are at work. Finally got so frustrated that I went to half.com and got a mint 2-CD album with everything that I wanted plus some for less than $10. And there is no sound bleeps, etc. and much less frustrating for me!! It's great if you just can't find the songs anywhere that you want or only want one here or one there, but if you want an entire group of them, it's a lot less hassle to just buy the CD. |

BMG also will send you emails every now and then about special sales they are having, like one day sales...70 - 80% off! I got a 2CD one that was like over $20 for $11 shipped. Seems like these sales are usually on a wednesdays. We bought my daughter a CD player for Christmas and couldnt afford alot of CD's so I did the 12 for the price of 1 deal. Cant beat it. Also, instead of having to keep sending those cards in you can do it online too! I like that!

| Re: BMG shipping charges?
Know it's an old thread, but just posted this response to BMG regarding one of their 80% off promotions for a box set I wanted to buy: "Paying over $20 in shipping for a box set still saves me $8 versus Amazon's price for free shipping (Amazon's everyday price is $8 more than the 80% BMG promo offer), but paying about $5 per disc for shipping isn't worth it just out of principle. I added Bjork's "Medulla" for $3 (80% off) and then realized by subtracting it, it took off $7-8 from my total. iTunes sells it for $9.99 plus a bonus track that i can burn to CD and rip for DRM-free listening - and yes, I'd get it now. BMG needs to figure out a new business model." |
