Question

I was unsure exactly where to post this question; I trust the moderator(s) will place it in its proper space.
I have done at least 40 full purchase price refunds with them in the past and have waited my mandatory 16 weeks+ to get my rebates. This past week, I sent for another overpriced product & sent in my rebate for a full purchase price refund. However, I checked my account/their web page and was advised thereon that I had "forgotten" to put on the rebate code on the outside of the envelope. Well, I think I DID; however, that is neither here nor there; they claim I did NOT.
Last Thurs., I e-mailed them asking what I could do to fix this problem; I e-mailed them again on Tues., again asking. Naturally, I have gotten NO response. I have also done $2 rebates for products I have purchased at the supermarket and when I do something "wrong," it is returned with an explanation and a chance to fix it. However, I am getting no response from CyberRebate in this regard. I told them I'd be happy to write the code on the outside of my envelope if they would return the enclosures (the original of the UPC, rebate form, etc.)
Can anyone please offer a solution to this problem? (I don't want to hear about how horrible CyberRebate is, etc., etc....I know that already!)
Thanks for a positive solution/response.
Sue

I had the same problem with Cyberrebate but I had kept a copy of my rebate forms so I called them and they marked it on my file and let me submit the copy that I had kept. Be sure to check to see that you put the number on the outside of the envelope.

Did you save copies of everything?

I had a similar problem (for a computer game they charged 65.00 for a week later I saw it for 9.99- free after rebate at just about every store out there) I emailed them a long nasty threatening letter. They replied I could resend everything. So I did along with another letter. In three months I had my rebate. I keep everything for cyberrebate organized in case of any problems.

I photocopy EVERYTHING! This includes the envelope with stamp, rebate code and address. I haven't had any problems in the past, and I've spent about $4000 or more there, but I keep proof of what I did, just in case.

The only way to clear things up is to have copies of everything you sent. I don't make copies of the envelope, but I think I might from now on. CS has always been very helpful with me. You will need to send in copies of everything you sent. Also, I had heard they accepted Fax's, if you have the availability of one. Hope everything works out!!!!

Photocopy everything!! Usually, their customer service is good about allowing you to submit the photocopies. SO far, I haven't had any problems with them.

I'm a first time rebate customer:

Icalled them and told them I had the same message when I looked up my account. They said they were having computer problems and to give it 2-weeks and if the problem wasn't fixed then send the copies in again. Thank goodness I made copies of everything but my envelope. Thanks guys for the heads up on copies for this vendor.

Just take another envelope and photocopy it. If they don't have your stuff they wouldn't know anyway. If they do they're lying in the first place and it shouldn't matter.

They have been pulling that rebate code on the envelope stunt with me too lately AND I double check before these things hit the post office.

They are lying.

I have a lot of rebates sitting out there and I always worry this outfit will go out of business.

I'm glad to see everyone's suggestions on how to handle submitting your rebate. I always photo copy everything when I mail in a rebate, but I never would have thought that I would have to photo copy the envelope! I finally broke down and made my first purchase at Cyberrebate this week, now I am prepared how to handle submitting the rebate properly. Thanks for all you tips everyone!

Here's a tip in filling out cyberrebate forms.
Open Notepad on your computer first
on the screen that comes up when you click the "available" link from your order, you will see the text

Your Rebate Code for this item is 02890052

COPY this number and paste it into note pad
then click 'display rebate forms'.
On this page, copy the address (sample below) and paste it into note pad just below the rebate code you just pasted.
------------
02890052
Center Stage (VHS)
Rebate Offer Department 252005
CyberRebate.com
One Comac Loop Unit 14A
Ronkonkoma, NY 11779-6816
-----------
Then print out your forms. When you are done, simply print out your notepad document, and use scissors to cut it up and put it on the envelope, this way there is NO WAY you can make a mistake...

just call them

i had the same problem but i didnt try to email them to fix the problem. I just call them right away, and they just told me to mail them a separate letter that contains the rebate code. As i did, it went fast, the "NO REBATE CODE" delayed the whole thing around 1-2 week only. So, no problem, SSefscik....just call them, their phone number seems a little bit too tricky to find. I think (dont remember) its on their homepage and click on help, contact us..etc, etc, etc...OR its on the receipt when they send you the package....which took me a while to look for their phone number when i had that problem...but anyhow, it will be ok...
P.S. dont waste time emaiing csr from cyberrebate....hey, you are getting your item for free, of course their response is not as good....
