Looking for some good deals on Home Depot or Lowes Gift certificates

I am going spend around 4000$ at Home Depot or Lowe's. I would really appriciate any help that could save me some money.

I think Home Depot gives a 10% discount if you open up a credit card with them. Lowes may also.

HomeWorks (use to be called HomeandGardenRewards - homeandgarden123.com) lets you buy 20 $25 gift certificates to various places (like Lowes & HomeDepot) and the first of the month they rebate $5 per certificate back onto your charge card. You have to join their program - they charge $79.95 after the 30 days free trial. I ordered 40 certificates (my husband has an account also) and once the rebate comes through I'll cancel. They also prorate the refund. So, I'll get $100 back per membership - that's 20% off. They came in 5 days via UPS.

If you sign up for this through Greenpoints.com you get 3000 points - enough for $5 at BurgerKing or Subway (and other things).

Plus, I think it's Home Depot will price match plus 10%.

Awhile back I submitted a change of address card and got a welome to the neighborhood type packet with a 10% one purchase at HomeDepot too.

Our Home Depot is across the intersection from Lowes. I like them both.

I don't think they will give 10% off if you appply for a charge card. I think Homeworks is a good deal. You can save atleast 100$.
