| Has anyone ever done this before? I mean geting back more than you paid? I just want to make sure they won't refund what I paid and no more...because I really don't need another clock !!! Any info would help !! Thanks |

| I just tried them for the first time last week. So I am still nervous. I did get my stuff and I sent out the rebate. Well see what happens. Of course I tried this one too. Had to free $$ and 1000 mypoints. How could I go wrong. Thanks Again. |

| My confirmation says $11.99. I sure hope they don't charge me $51.99. I've seen these before with muges for $9.99 with a $19.99 rebate. I've never tried it, tho. I can't tell whether they are mistakes or just limited time offers to get people in. The offer usually only lasts a few hours. Seems weird to me. Anyway, I went thru ebates and hopefully will get a 4% rebate, used my Discover card to get another 1% cashback bonus, and I will donate the clock to our parochial school's silent auction and take the charitable deduction. |

| I was curious to this one and thought I might as well give it a shot since this is one thing I haven't tried..well..I went thru the process and here is what my CC would have been billed: . Unit Price Quantity Total Rebate After Rebate -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- White Porcelain Clock $51.99 1 $51.99 -$51.99 $0.00 Subtotal: $51.99 Shipping: $0.00 Tax (NY/OH sales only): $3.38 Total charged to your card: $55.37 Shipping Method: Standard Needless to say, I'm bailing on this one..thanks for the post Lisa!

| I did this a couple of nights ago, received my clock already. Was charged the $11.99. My rebate form is still pending, but I'm sure it will be just fine. I did see they changed the price. I did this once before, with a Pez watch (made $5 on that deal). They eventually changed the price and rebate, but I was charged just what they said, and my rebate form was for the amount they said as well. This IS a reputable company. I have done business with them steadily for a year and a half. Nothing but praise for them from me!

| This isn't normal. With all my other orders the rebate form was ready by the time the order came in??!!?? I doubt we'll make the 40.00 off the clock but we will probably get the 11.99 back. |

| It says the rebate will be available five days after the order, I ordered mine on the 5th so it should be there tomorrow. I hope we get the $51.99 rebate because the clock is not worth $11.99. The gold plate around the face of my clock is all scratched and the cover itself is plastic !! I was going to give this as part of a wedding present but I will ask them for a return label. Not worth the $11.99. [Edited by jodifenner on 03-19-2001 at 11:55 AM] |

| ok. Call me slow. I think I've finally figured out how they do it. The inflated prices are adjusted to reflect projected income earned off of interest. In other words, they charge 51.99 for the clock. Figuring the interest they earn on your money for 4 months (5% APR) that means the clock price is actually $.87. That would be their wholesale cost. Based on the descriptions from other posts, that seems like a reasonable wholesale cost. Although, with the volume they run, they are probably getting a higher interest rate. I haven't been brave enough to order from there before. Think I'll avoid them now...simply for the principle of the thing (principle being used 2 ways there...hahaha.) But, if you find anymore "make money off the deal" items, I'll probably give it a try. Got in too late on this one Principles fall by the wayside when it comes to actually making money off of the deal...lol.
