Online Grocery Shopping - A Necessity?

I recently tried buying my groceries online and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was. I found all of the items on my shopping list in about 20 minutes, paid and they were at my door by late afternoon. I never even had to leave my house! I used [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] online shopping but I believe there are many others. Really good idea, wish I had done it sooner.

Re: Online Grocery Shopping - A Necessity?

Hi - I don't know if anyone is looking at this thread - and this is my first post so apologies if it's not suitable, but I have to say that online grocery deliveries are a great invention!!

Top tip for users of this forum is sign up to all of them and use them in rotation (unless you find you really can't get along with one of them). If you do this, they will start sending your money-off vouchers to try and "win you back" as a customer. I saved £15 on Ocado earlier this year - not to be sniffed at.

But be warned - they can charge a lot for delivery (maybe not so much when compared to car trip and parking??). Their charges vary a lot from nothing (not often) to over ten pounds. I spotted this on another forum - [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]. It lets you see who is charging what.

Also - I didn't realise that the delivery times vary so much. Some deliver late, so deliver with really short time slots (which is brilliant). I hate the "it will be delivered between 9am and 6pm" type companies!

Anyway - hope this helps.

Dagostinos don't appear to deliver to the UK by the way - looks like a US company. The main UK players are: Tesco, Sainsbury, Ocado, ASDA and now Waitrose.
