Reminder on Posting rules and Spam!--Merged Rules Thread!

We do not tolerate SPAM of any kind on DOD! If you want referrals for some program or other, you may post those in Membership Referral once you have reached 25 quality posts on our site (refer to the rules in that forum for details).

Merchants may post special offers for their own sites in From the Merchant's Mouth.

And those are the ONLY places where you can post any form of SPAM for ANY REASON!

We have a ZERO TOLERANCE spam policy. It does not matter who you are or how long you have been here, if you SPAM, your post will be deleted ASAP. If you continue to do it repeatedly, you will find yourself banned from the site.

Everyday, we mods have to come in and clear out many posts that are against the TOS and should never have been made in the first place.

We also have some members who have been here for a long time and who should know better who suddenly post SPAM. I am not sure if these members reason that they have been here so long, there should be exceptions for their posts, or what. But there are NO exceptions. The rules have not changed.

For regular members, if we mods find ourselves repeatedly deleting spam from you, you will be warned before we ban, so you have a chance to cease the behavior.

We WILL NOT however, send a message and explain why we deleted each and every spam post. If you posted SPAM, then you know why it was deleted, there is no need to inform you of the reasons for the deletion.

No one likes to have to scroll through a ton of posts on each forum to skip the spam and find the good deals. It creates clutter and frustration. So let's keep our forums clean and clutter free!

Just a few other rule reminders:

Posts in Found a Freebie are to be completely FREE items, no shipping and handling, no SASE's, no 3 other offers to complete, etc. If you find an offer like that and wish to share it, you must post it in Internet and Retail Deals.

Offers that require you to complete tons of their other offers to get a freebie are not really free and these posts will be deleted.

Alcohol or tobacco related posts are unacceptable in any form. They are against the TOS of our Family Friendly Site.

Coupon trades go in the Coupon forum. There is no selling of coupons on DOD. You may offer them for a handling fee or trade them for other coupons that you can use.

Items that you wish to sell, like stuff you have to clean out or would sell at a yard or garage sale, should be posted in the Stuff For Sale or Trade forum.

If you have a store of your own, or you are an Ebay seller, then it goes in From the Merchant's Mouth.

Gripes or complaints about a website or experience go in the Compliments and Complaints forum.

You will find relevant forums for everything from religion and politics discussions, to living frugally, and even for baby freebies. So place your posts in the appropriate forum. This saves time for us mods, so we don't have to move a ton of posts, and you aren't left wondering where your post went.

I hope this clears a few things up for everyone.

Remember, most of all, we are here to "Save Money and Have Fun!"

Your personal or affiliate stores and links belong in the Merchant's Mouth forum, otherwise these posts will be deleted, no exceptions!

If you post spam, it will be deleted.

On a further note, you run the risk of being reported for abuse to both the affiliate stores or site hosts and your ISP.

All of these types of posts are considered SPAM and do not belong in this forum.

If you make these types of posts, and we moderators see from your post count that the only reason you joined, or returned to the site after several years absense, was to make SPAM posts, not only will your posts be deleted, but you run the risk of being BANNED from our site, and having your membership cancelled as well.

We provide forums for those types of posts, it is just as easy for you to posts your referral or affiliate links in the appropriate forum as it is to post them in here. Please do so.

There have been some questions recently regarding our policy on these types of posts, while it is not spelled out in specific in the site TOS, when you sign up and agree to the TOS, you do agree to abide by all site rules, and these rules are set seperately.

DealofDay.com is now, and has always been a FAMILY FRIENDLY site, it is under the World Village family of sites and they are all FAMILY FRIENDLY in entirety.

This status and family friendly reputation is VERY important to us, and has been our goal since the sites inception. Therefore to maintain our standing as such, we do not allow ANY types of Alcohol, Tobacco or Drug Abuse types of posts.

This means no posting or trading of coupons for such, no posting of freebies or deals related to these types of items, no contests, referrals or affiliate links to any sites that are related to these types of things, no exceptions.

This includes signature lines!

Any posts relating to these topics will be deleted, signature lines will be removed and etc. So please refrain from making these types of posts.

Now, this does not mean you cannot discuss related issues, such as concern over teenage alcohol, tobacoo or drug use or abuse, prescription drugs that you are using and want others opinions on or similar types of discussions. The ban rule is on any kinds of posts that PROMOTE their usage.

We do have members here who are minors and do not deserve to be subjected to such things.
