Some of the sales are only for educators but some are for everyone. I know in the past people that "homeschool" their children have gotten in as well. I plan on going with my sister who is a teacher so if I cannot buy the books, she can!

I didn't know this store existed! It's about 20 minutes from us and we homeschool. I will have to make a stop there this week!

Thanks for the reminder! I hope I can get a few books for gifts. I am a classroom volunteer AND a bookfair volunteer so I hope I don't have any problems getting in. lol I noticed that on the first day it says purchase orders and something else...can't remember...something like book profit...Does that mean noone else can go that first day?

You can go any day of the sale...I usually go several times during their sales.
Sometimes they hand out coupons when you check out and they are constantly putting out more books. I received a coupon via e-mail, but deleted it after printing.

What is everyone finding? Do they have the Klutz books or the extra gift type items they have at the book fairs...such as clifford plush animals or software?

Cata. I've been to the sale many times. Pretty much anything they would sell at your schools bookfair will be there. Stuffed animals, pencils, pens, bookmarks, gift sets, software, movies, etc...

I went to the sale on Saturday.
It was great!! This time they had a huge area of items and books for $1.00 each. I also picked up lip gloss kits that retailed $8.95 for .25 each.

Thanks for this post! I have been waiting patiently and today I went to ours. It was GREAT! I think I was there for at least 2 hours.LOL I made the mistake of starting at one end and working my way over. On the far side of the room was the fill a box for $25. I should have started there!

Anyway, I found the lip gloss kits for $1 and I thought that was good.(until I reread lectric's post! lol)

I did the $25 box deal and a bunch of $1 books and a few 50% off things. Got one of those Mom's Plan It calendars for 75% off $3.25. That made my day. (already have a bunch of free calendars, but this one is magnetic and hangs on the fridge.)

My 6 yr old is well taken care of and I have more stash for birthday parties. Books for preschoolers and beginning readers were plentiful at the bargain areas. Good thing I wasn't buying much in that category or I would've gone way over budget.

lectric- Thanks for the coupon! I printed 2 and gave one to my friend. A nice little savings.

At the door they gave out posters that had bent corners. I nabbed a few of those that probably looked better than the one my son brought home from school.lol They also gave away school bus shaped boxes used for drawings? I didn't take one cuz for the life of me I couldn't think of what I would use it for. I guess maybe the teachers could've used it...

Also, they handed out a page of coupons as we were leaving. One was for $20 off a $90 purchase (that is $90 before they take the 50% off..so $45-$20=$25!!)

The Brooklyn Park, Mn sale will have $10 box from a selected area on 12/17. To give you an idea of what that means, I managed to get at least 50 books in my box today.

Ohhh! I'm so jealous! I haven't gotten the chance to go to the one here yet because I wanted to find a time to go without the kiddos. My sis and I are planning on going Saturday morning but I think that is the last day of the sale. I hope they still have some good stuff left!

My 5-year old son that is in Kindergarten is already reading and goes to the 1st grade for reading. I want to get him some books I know he will devour right up!!

There were so many books at mine that I wonder if they ever run out! lol There were a few kids at the sale, but I didn't see any babies or toddlers. They would be a distraction for sure, but I don't think there would be space issues.

Just a heads up...the $25/box area had many damaged books and sets with missing pieces. Look carefully! I bought a Klutz book showing how to kick a hacky sack, but the hacky sack was missing though the mesh bag was still attached. I thought it was worth buying a new hc to give it as a gift as the book ended up costing me about $.50. If you aren't buying for gifts many of the minor creases won't bother you at all. Of course, MOST of the books I got from that area were perfect.

Ours had grocery carts to use.

I went this morning and didn't buy a single thing. A lot of the books were not the kind of stuff I'd buy for my kids... lots of pop culture stuff. (Sponge Bob, Clifford, etc.) They had some good books there but the prices just weren't that great. I have found some of the same books they had at bookcloseouts.com for a couple dollars less than what they were selling them for. They didn't have the $25 box deal at this one as far as I could tell.
