If you're interested in flying, you might want to try contacting the local airport and finding out who does discovery flights. Here we have three different aviation companies (and I live in a small town!), so they're pretty competitive & it's only $30 for a 45 minute flight. It's a LOT of fun & I'd recommend it for anyone who even has the slightest desire (although you might get hooked

Also, if you have a child between the ages of 8 & 17, you can send them up for a free flight sponsored by the EAA Aviation Foundation's Young Eagles program. A volunteer takes them up for a ride and the kids also get a certificate & their names entered into the World's Largest Logbook at the EAA Air Adventure Museum in Oshkosh, WI.
