Here is the latest e-mail I received from DAMIANCO.Dear Customer, Please be advised that the information on a free offer that has been circulating on a forum, has been sent to you in error. Although Damianco.com does provide great savings for your dollar, it does not give away large ticket items like TV-VCR Combo. This information is bogus, and any orders containing this item will be canceled. We are sorry for any inconveniences caused , and there will be in investigation on this matter. The following advise is given to all our customers, and we would like to share it with you, so that you do not experience any problems in the future: If a deal looks too good to be true, call the company, or send an e-mail first to verify, and do not give out any information on your credit card until you are absolutely sure that there is a deal. Please take extra precautions when ordering on line. This is for your safety. Sincerely, Damianco.comCOM |

I got an e mail originally FROM THE COMPANY confirming the order at $0.00. So other than their screwing up the pricing on their web site, what made the offer "bogus"??? Aren't they obliged to honor the price if an order goes through and is confirmed??? And their subsequent e mail (I got one too), implies that credit card info might have been stolen, like the page on their web site had been taken over by a hacker??? Any comments on all this....

Not to start a fight here, but I really don't think people should complain when an offer this outrageous doesn't work out. I didn't do it because I knew this exact thing would happen. Everyone screws up, and I bet the programmer that made the mistake is either fired or getting h***. Here is the real-world analogy: Because of an error in the price sticker machines, an item is marked $0.00 in the store. Would you just walk out of the store with that item? No, you would be arrested for shoplifting. If you took the item to the checker first and it rang up as $0.00, would you smile at the cashier and walk out of the store without paying? The cashier would call their manager and the appropriate price would be entered - that e-mail that beanz received is the manager. I know this is an old debate, but I think people shouldn't do things online that they wouldn't do offline. I have no problem presenting discount coupons at stores when I have clerks in front of me. But stuff like this I just wouldn't do. |

guys - I took business law and I know, FOR A FACT, that even if a store advertises a price in the newspaper, it is NOT obligated to sell the item at that price. So, Sears could advertise a stove for 1 dollar and have a thousand ppl come to buy it and tell them "it's 400 hundred dollars" and no amount of legal battles, police on the scene, whining, moaning, complaining, threatening, etc. will make them sell for a dollar. THEY are protected by the law, not us...so that story about Sears - either it's BOGUS, or Sears felt it was in their best interest to sell it to the customer to make them happy (my money is on the bogus bet, though.) Sorry to disappoint you all.
