Zany Brainy

I could have sworn I heard that some of the Zany Brainy stores were going to be closing down. Has anyone else heard this? and does anyone have any info on which stores are closing? I went to there web site and they have nothing there.

To make this an internet deal post also Zany Brainy does have the new Harry Potter book preorder for 40% off. This is going to be an expensive book, $29.99 suggested retail, so Zany is preselling it for $17.xx didnt look at shipping costs.

I know of one Zany Brainy closing. The store is located in Vernon Hills, IL. All toys are now at least 50%-70% off (it was 30-50% a few weeks ago). We got a lot of Thomas the Tank Engine trains and rail sets at 50%+ off (which is rarely on sale anywhere else). They also have lot of display items that were sold very cheap.

David Schlessinger started Encore Books when he was a still a college student. He later sold that and started Zany Brainy. After going nationally with that, he sold that to FAO Company, and his latest venture is FiveBelow. He's an amazingly smart entreprenuer.
