Shocked Check your mail for $10 JCPenney savings certificate

It is about 5x7 green and red glossy tri fold flyer with a $10 savings cetificate inside. It is good until the 24th. There are some restrictions...mostly brands, but it is good on sale stuff, too! Good on $10 or more... This looks like junk mail. Don't throw it out!

Got two today. Both looked the same on the outside, but the certs were different. The one to my husband specifically stated the coupon was to by used by him when he used his American Express card, so AmEx cardholders be on the look out for yours in the mail. The other one addressed to me had no name on the coupon. I've ordered online and shopped in JcPenny, so I figure that is why I got one. I don't have a store card with them.

Big grin

I got this Saturday, and marched right into our local Penney's after delivering my son to school on Monday. They had photo albums, $19.99 on sale, 40% off. I got a beautiful album for $2.15 (inc. tax), after deducting the 40% and the $10.00! Yippee!

Ok I had a funny vision in my head when reading your post. I didn't finish the part of your sentence that said, "... my son to school on Monday" before this vision occurred. I thought wow she DELIVERED a baby and then rushed down to JC to shop. Ok it has been a long day. Hope that makes sense

Wow! Worth your time!

We stopped by the mall while we were in the city yesterday! I found all the half price childrens clothes (Okie Dokie). My purchase included 2 different 2pc outfits for dd, tennis shoes for dd and a 2pc outfit for ds. My total was $18.16!!!! To top it off the clerk gave me another persons certificate and gift card with a balance of $1.82. I didn't realize it until this morning but they gave me a recycled JCP bag. Too bad I didn't notice it while we were still in the city, dh could have used the certificate also! The way it is we live an hour away from any JCP so I probably won't be back by xmas eve.

I am thinking this was one of my great bargains for xmas

Could someone please tell me if they let you use the 10.00 off on a 9.99 purchase since it would go over 10.00 with the tax added.

Thanks

No...it needs to be over $10. I bought my son a Rescue Heros toy that came up over $10 with tax, and it came up on the register that the item wasn't over $10. So I found something for a $1.50 and then it was ok. Also, if you buy several items, it will take off a percentage of each item. Example: if you buy 10 items it will take off $1 from each item, instead of $10 off of the whole purchase. Hope this makes sense...so if you buy something that might have to be returned and use the certificate, you will only get back exactly what you paid for the item, not the actual items price. My mother in law bought a pair of flannel pants for 11.99 and a pair of dress pants for men for $40. She used her coupon and it took off $2 from the flannel pants and $8 from the dress pants. She had to return the dress pants, and lost the $8. The manager said basically she would have been better off buying each of them seperate, since she had to return the dress pants. I guess there is quite a few people that use the coupon and try to return it and get the cash instead. Not me, I'd look around for hours trying to find something for "free"!! Hope this makes sense!!
