Hmmm...

I seem to recall having a tough time de-subscribing from the Columbia House movie clubs in the past. Have they gotten any better?

lovinitinVt is welcome here
When my Mother in Law's Brother died she tried to cancel his account and it took months for them to agree to release her as the benefactor of his estate from his obligation. I hate to say it but they dont get my business because of that!

Thanks! I'm gonna take advantage of this.

Anytime Columbia House offers No future purchase necessary you should take advantage. Otherwise, you'll be stuck paying too much to fulfill your requirement!

Years ago I was a member of Columbia House for record albums (remember those?). I wasn't too thrilled with it, especially the automatic delivery of albums I didn't want. The biggest problem I had with them was with the selection.

I took advantage of their CD offer a couple of years ago. They have a club called "Play" where they don't send you the selections automatically. Overall, I think it was a pretty good deal. I took advantage of special sales they had and bought several decent CDs at just $1.99 + $2.50 s/h. $4.50 is pretty decent for a new CD. I fulfilled my obligation and would buy more if their selection was bigger and I didn't already have a selection that covers my musical tastes.

Now I find myself getting into multi-channel audio (surround sound) with DTS and DVD-Audio discs, but the selection is limited. Columbia House is just getting into carrying those, but prices are high and the choices are poor.

Yeah, the no obligation DVD offer is just too good to pass up. If they send me an automatic selection, I'll just write "return to sender" on it and drop it in the mail.
