10% rebate on Macy's purchases through 1/11/03 (strings attached)

This is not currently being promoted at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] but was in B&M last night, this morning confirmed from phone CSR that it also applies to online orders.

1. Must use your Macy's charge card (online, B&M, phone)
2. Must DONATE $25 (rings up as "More Community") which is positioned as a charitable contribution, so should be tax-deductible (as always, check w/ your tax preparer on this, but I intend to take it).
3. In February 2003, you will get a Macy's GC for amount representing 10% of your purchases from day of donation through end of program, 1/11/03. No, it doesn't include 10% of the $25 donation ;o)

This is good if you already shop Macy's. Or if you don't have their card yet, I think you get 10% off purchases the day you apply/receive card, so could be a nice combined discount on a big ticket purchase. Program period also encompasses holiday sales (after T-day, after Christmas) so you'll be getting an extra 10% off those prices.

I was buying an armload of clearance clothing, saw the promotion details in store, signed up, and immediately "earned back" the $25 donation with my purchase of clothing that was already at 50% off!

You can probably sign up for this over phone (1-800-BUY-MACY) if you don't want to/can't get to a store.
