Lamentations of an Instant Win Loser!!

(Let me preface this by saying that I have won a couple of things through instant wins, but for the most part.....)


Mr. Peanut ran off with someone else....60 "someone elses" to be exact.

Pete won't even give me the shirt off his back.

Veryfine is refusing to share with me their Spirit,

and if Austin's calling me a winner, I can't hear it!!

Minute Maid and Mickey keep calling me a loser,

and personally, I think Chuck E. Cheese may be a boozer!

Heavy sigh and a sniff as I go back for more....

(even though I can buy some of these things at a store!)

Still, with each new day, I start up again,

hoping to hear those treasured words, "YOU WIN!!"


Prayers, positive thoughts, good juju and a dash of mojo to all in the hopes that we'll all be winners soon!!

Heehee....good observations bwsmom! I know exactly how you feel! It's hard to take the words, "Sorry, you're not a winner", so many times in one day....lol

Very cute and very true.......but you forgot one more -

What's the point of this poem, does it seem
To be mocking the DealOfDay team?
While our efforts go forward
With seldom reward
It still is a pleasure to dream!

Yeah, I feel your pain, hear your cries
When your time spent seems not very wise
Maybe one day will come
When you'll not feel so dumb
And you're finally awarded a prize!

With appropriate reverence to jeskibuff's fabulous response, I offer the following:

Mr. Peanut is a man of my past,
(a relationship that was doomed not to last).
And though Pete wouldn't give me the shirt off his back,
he did finally bequeath me a bottle wrap!

Veryfine's generosity has been in the form of coupons,
though their speed in mailing has been like Grey Poupon!
Austin and I, well, that's another story....
seems like everyone else is sharing in his glory!

Minute Maid and Mickey are still in denial,
and I've been waiting for my Chuck E Cheese prize for quite a while!!
In Demand said they'll give me a prize pack of "Ali",
which I'll list on ebay when we hang the holly!

Having said the above, I must admit,
I now have enough incentive not to quit.
There are plenty of others not so willing to share:
Juicyfruit and Freschetta are a less generous pair.

3M is keeping their post-its from me,
and Creme Savers has yet to show their generosity!!
And there's always someone new, lurking 'round the bend,
to call me a loser again and again!

Still, it's been a good month, so I cannot complain.
Small wins help to keep us all sane!
They're motivation to keep on keepin' on,
which is what I will do, til the prizes are all gone!

So take heart, my instant-win mates!
Say a prayer; take a chance; leave it up to the Fates.
But whatever you do, please do not despair,
for those lovely words, "YOU WIN" are out there....somewhere....
