Not sure what island you're going to, but I think most of them have timeshare presentations. We went to one in Kauai -- it took 2 hours and it was pouring rain, so we didn't feel like we lost too much activity time -- and they gave us really good deals (2 for 1 or 50% off actual prices -- not "retail" prices) on activities that we wanted to do. If you're at all interested in snorkeling, that's a really fun activity that's fairly cheap. Buy a cheap mask and snorkel at Wal-Mart and it's free after that. On our last trip, we took a George Forman grill and bought food at the grocery store and cooked it on that in our budget hotel. Restaurants are so pricey, we splurged once, but mostly ate in. Hope you have a WONDERFUL trip. I'm so jealous!
