Baffled Need help finding birthday cake decorations

I am making a birthday cake for my MIL and she loves wolves. I have searched for the past two days and can't find anything. I am looking for cake toppers, etc. of wolves. I could even use some small plastic wolf toys if I could find any. HELP!!!!! TIA!

I took a decorating class once, and she told us you can trace a picture onto the cake and then fill it in with frosting. Those children's coloring books with the big pictures are great for this. Just cut out the picture, lay on the cake and then trace around it with a toothpick. If you can't find a wolf, you might try this.

It's really pretty easy to do. Just make sure to cut around everything--eyes, mouth, ect.

What is the best way to fill it in? Do you use a star tip, do you smooth it out, or just pipe it in?

You could do it either way. I personally, would probably smooth it out. If you slightly dampen your fingers and smooth over the frosting this will work really good. Star tipping would be lots easier, but I think the results would be better the other way.

No problem. If you have anymore questions, I'll be glad to help. I have decorated a few cakes although I am by no means a professional. I made my dh one one year. He is a big fan of "cophenhagan tobacco", so I made a round cake and decorated it to look like a cophenhagen can. It was really cute, and looked like the real thing. I have made several "bikini cakes"--those are easy and cute. Anyway, let me know if you have anymore questions.

Thanks ghostie! I have got the cake worked out. I am going to print out a picture of a wolf and take it to Sam's and they can put the picture on the cake. These sites are great, though, I have trouble finding unique wolf stuff for her and these sites are wonderful. Thank you so much for all the time you put into finding these and posting for me. I really appreciate it!

For my parents aniversery last year Elf had a picture of them printed on a transfer that she put on the cake. She sent a picture from their wedding to someplace online and got the cake transfer in the mail.Someone here may know the place she got it from. You could get it done with a wolf photo.
