Question Dust ruffle for our waterbed?????

We have a waterbed, and right now it has a dust ruffle that we can't take off the bed without draining the bed. Of course, we don't want to do that if we don't have to, but the dust ruffle needs to come off. That's not a problem, because it's yellowed (it's white linen and has aged), and we need to replace it, so we can just cut it off.

BUT, we need a new one to replace it, and my DH swears there are dust ruffles out there that don't cover the platform of the bed. He says they are elastic and you just put it around the outside of the mattress. In all my shopping, I've never seen such a thing.

Have any of you? And do any of you have any other ideas for replacing this? I'd be open to any suggestions and any links to any online or B & M stores.

Thanks!

I had the same problem. I just cut out most of the center piece and tucked it between the two mattresses. Just cut and tore the old one off.

We were at my grandma's tonight, and my DH saw a Harriet Carter catalog there, and they have the elastic ones, but they are satin. I don't want satin......

We may just have to do what you suggested, mollypandora.

I have purchased through the catalog with this company and was very pleased with their service. I found a dust ruffle on their website. [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]
There may be other styles, you'll have to look around. It doesn't specify how this ruffle attaches, you will have to contact them and ask. Good Luck!

how about Velcro?

run a length of velcro around your bed, and then sew the other part of it to a dust ruffle, handmade or storebought.
