good, long lasting digital camera?

I was waiting to find a great priced digital camera after christmas.. doesnt have to be dirt cheap.. just a good deal for my money.. any help is appreaciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a HP photosmart and I love it. I have never had any problem with it and I have had for a little over a year know.
It usually runs about 100.00 (can it cheaper if you look) I know when I bought this I paid 165.00 the price has really come down. Mysister just bought the same camera for 99.00 at best buy, and she loves it too.

Tiffany, is it a 215? That's what I got. They had them on sale at Sears because they quit handeling them and I got 10% off the sale price. Pretty good little camera for a first digital.

going up to the HP 315 or 318 (about $190-200, but try coupon codes, etc)
Since they seem to have better features and much better reviews than the 215 (which is much cheaper, though). Also, if there's possibility of you buying a printer now/later, see the MIR offers at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] since they could make the prices for the camera sweeter.

The 315 has a lens cover (more rugged), but the 318 has a wee bit more resolution (doesn't exactly matter, since both are above 2.1 MPixel). I've used both thru my friends, both are nice

Want to go higher? see the Office Depot special (until 1/05/02) for the HP "can't remember" with the optical zoom priced around $260.

BTW, if you can fish out some coupons for officedepot, plz let me know too!
