I would check out any local kids consignment shops. You can always find some good used stuff there. They're usually picky about the things they'll accept so you should find a great one for pretty cheap. I haven't bought any furniture at the one near us, but a friend has and swears by it. Some friends and I even get our kids some clothes from there. You can find some great buys on brand name kids clothes in great shape and cheaper than you can get on eBay (plus no shipping!!)! Another idea might be the classifieds in your local paper. We also get a weekly thing via snail mail called Pennysaver. Do you get that? Anyway, it's like a separate published classifed "magazine." They catagorize their ads...animals, kids korner, miscellaneous, real estate, autos, etc. Good luck! |

Thanks but I have to tell you . I live 3 hours from any kind of city that has stores like that,I do not get weekly ads because there is no stores to advertise, and there are no consignments shop either. My town has probably 300 people max and all the surrounding towns are the same way. The nearest place I can go shopping (and when I say shopping, all I am talking about is kmart is over 1 hour away.(i VERY sheltered)My local kmart is sold out of anything---But thanks anyways |

I've been looking for a toddler bed also. The best deals on-line I've found are at Burlington Coat Factory: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or

I have put in an inquiry to Respond.com about toddler beds with wooden slats, for under $100. Will let you know if they come up with anything! (I went through e-bates and got paid .50 for my inquiry too!) Bluelight.com (K-Mart) also had some choices. |

If you're not in a hurry, I'd keep a watch at Kmart. I got mine there for about $40 - the Graco Cozy Bed, very low to the ground and has side rails that go about half way down. But our Kmart had a good selection. You can keep an eye at kmart online. My one suggestion if you have a wiggler is to go with plastic instead of wood. I hear my son bonk the side of the bed at night, and I think wood would be awfully painful. My son just made the transition from our room to his own room and bed this weekend! For online stores, check these out: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] [Only registered and activated users can see links. Sorry, I didn't realize you were in the boonies and were looking to find a toddler bed online. Check out Sears. They actually have a toddler bed conversion: Target.com and Walmart.com as well as Amazon (Toys R Us) have some also, but beware shipping will more than likely be atrocious! Check with people you know to see if they (or someone they know) have a toddler bed they're ready to part with.
