Deal badly need to fly from Raleigh to Phoenix!

Hey guys,

I need to fly to Phoenix this Wednesday to be there when my mom has emergency surgery. She has breast cancer and will be undergoing extensive surgery. Well, at the last minute, I can't find ANY deals on this trip to fly out. I have tried Priceline and Hotwire and their not looking good for more than $300. Anyone see any deals around?

Many of the airlines have emergency flight tickets that they can supply below cost. To find out if the airlines have this type of ticket, unfortunately, you will have to call the airline. Tell the representative the situation and they can provide you with discounted rates in most cases. I have done this when there have been family emergencies in the past and it does work. I hope that your Mom will do well and that you will have a safe trip.

I just flew home two weeks ago for a funeral and used priceline. I bought my ticket the night before I left and got a round trip ticket for $152. (NC to Wisconsin) Very good deal for last minute flight. I know you probably dont want to wait till the night before to try to get a flight though. I heard on TV one day last week about certain airlines having some great deals going on. Have you tried individual airlines? I think one of them was United but usually when one lowers prices a few more will. I wonder if you could try to find the best deal, buy that ticket, then on Tuesday night try priceline? Then, if you get a cheaper ticket cancel the other one. Also, just a hint on Priceline I offered a real low price the first time, and they said it was to low and suggested about a $75 increase to my offer, I went up just $20 instead and it was accepted. My advice is go up a little each time instead of a large amount at once! Good luck and I hope you can find a great deal!

What date coming back? Did you try Orbitz? Maybe your best bet
is to get into a airport that is serviced by ATA-American Trans Air.
or maybe Funjet or Sun Country(not sure if they fly into phoenix).

I guess my flight problem is over now. I was able to get a ticket on Priceline for $206.95 roundtrip for Wednesday. I thought that was really good considering the lowest publuished rate was $650.00.

I am so glad that you found a good price. Hope that you have a nice, safe trip and that your mom is a ok. My mother-in-law is having surgery this week for colon cancer so I will say an extra prayer.

That's a fantastic price! What day coming back? About
the only thing that I could think of to make it better is
that Smarterliving.com was offering like a $15 add on
to bids on priceline I believe. Did you have to do multiple
bids? What airline?
