Decorations , it will be outside and I have an above ground pool. Please send recipes, names of stores any deals you have heard of. etc...... Thank you Terri |

Here are some sites to check out for recipes... [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] [Only registered and activated users can see links. A T-shirt saying Big Kahuna for your friend is an idea. Good Luck--Have fun--Are we all invited

| here's what i'd do for food -
pork tenderloin on grill. marinate in soy sauce, pineapple juice (or oj) and brown sugar. (and garlic if you like.) grilled pineapple slices. you can just use slices from a can and brush w/ brown suger, then grill til bubbly. wild rice, and i mean real wild rice. go to your gourmet section in grocery and check out supply. nearly anything you find there will be fabulous, not even comparable to minute rice or uncle ben's. and for a veggie? hmmmm, i've got an amazing recipe for green beans. it utilizes toasted rice and coconut. very easy. e me if you want it. i'll try to think on some others. (all the above can be prepared a bit ahead and served warm rather than hot, which makes it easier for you to enjoy the party!)get some don ho music from your library. if they still have that coupon deal going at spiegel, you can pick up a couple luau party kits for next to nothing. for music, you could also alternate w/ some rainforrest type stuff, too. especially if you can find something w/ a volcano sound. drinks? get some fresh pineapple (the flavor is so incredible. i stick w/ the dole's "super sweet" for perfection every time) to mix w/ canned, and some coco lopez cocout. throw in some dark rum and ice and blend. yummy. you can also vary w/bananas or other fruit. watch your grocers now for scratch and dent fruit, because, really, for this kind of thing, the riper the better. (plus it'll save you some $$$.) pee, cut up and throw in a freezer bag. pull out when you're ready to make cocktails. a nice non-alcoholic drink is made w/ lemonade, orange juice and pineapple juice. (use whatever you didn't need to marinate for the latter.) if i can think of anything else, i'll get back. be sure to marinate pork overnight for best flavor. aloha! |
