Looking for a cute (and cheap) baby gift

A friend recently had a baby and I wanted to send her a small gift. I'm looking for something that I can buy on the net that isn't too much to ship. An eBates merchant would be best. Thanks all.

Well, I dont know of any eBate site but you can try eBay or the store Tuesday Mornings. I have bought toys for newborns for just a couple of bucks. I mean like under $4. I got three new sesame street toys for $ 7 bucks.

my sis is going to have hers soon. here is a good idea for all mothers...50 or 100 pairs of baby socks! my mom said that 100 is to many but if you're having twins, etc. it would be great. anyway, here's a link to the item on ebay. these come in different colors and sizes (who REALLY needs 100 pairs of newborn socks) and they are really cheap!

Then type in "birthday"
You will find a number of downloads all free for "birthday fun facts". These are the things that you see at the mall, etc. They let you type in a name and a date and then it makes a certificate that tells important facts that happened on the day that the baby was born.
You can print them off on certificate paper that you can find at your local walmart, or just regular paper. When you are finished printing out the certificate, then put it in an inexpensive frame.
Makes a wonderful treasure and a one of a kind gift that I am sure no one else will duplicate.

I have a question about this site. The only thing that shows up when I do the search is The Birthday Chronicle 5.50 which costs $50 and got bad reviews. Is there another download that you use?

Even though it says they cost $50 and $30 dollars, you can still download them and use them for a limited amount of days. The one that I downloaded was free. I didn't see it on the site today. Hope this helps. If not, they have a full version of Birthday fun facts at office max for $9.99.

I ordered one of these for myself and for a friend, they are personalized babyblocks with the babies name, weight, and birth info on them. You can even put who its from. I think they were about $12 and I got them about 10 days from the time I ordered them. Very cute keepsake!
