Here are some sites you can look at: If you don't mind using priceline this site has info on succesful/failed bids on [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] for many different areas in the US so you can get an idea of the price you'll have to bid, etc. IMHO very informative, but remember no hotel points/miles unless you are very lucky: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] The site also lists $5 bonuses for hotel bids also. $25 airline bonus but you won't need it since you're driving. Another site is [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] Get rates then say yes/no within certain time period. Other sites: I'm sure others will have better ones to suggest. Don't forget to check with the hotel chains own websites also. Sometimes they have specials or similar rates, in which case you can then get points in the hotel's frequent stay program. Are you looking for cheap as possible, decent quality, 4*, etc? # of rooms for the 8 people? Do you travel much that a free night or two in the future would be more beneficial than a cheaper rate? Sorry to throw more out there for you to think about. You are welcome to PM me if you need more help/discussion. Last edited by sushiosushi; 05-08-2001 at 12:43 PM. |

This might be a little off the topic, but or local pbs tv station has auctions from time to time - great place to get vacation packages and almost everything else. Also, our local schools have fundraising auctions also. These are even better as we have gotten a week stay on the beach in Fla. for less than 300.00. Great place that usually rented for 1,000.

You might try this site: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or

For a 3 bedroom/ 2 bath in the Phoenix V it is $1588/wk (peak season). These have a nice size kitchen/living/eating area, plus laundry right in the condo-see the floor plans! |

Go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or

LESURGE, email me if you would like to talk, we stayed at Gulf Shores last year and are going to Myrtle Beach this year. We stayed at Phoenix 2, I think there are 12 total, so ours was one of the "older" ones but it was still very nice. I would definitely recommend it. Also would recommend calling the condo directly and not going through a real estate company, we got a better deal that way and didn't have to stay an entire week. This year we bid on price line and got a very very nice room for 80.00 on the beach. We will be staying in Wyndham! Their room are usually 160.00 a night. Like I said email me if you have any questions I'll help out all I can, know what it's like trying to budget for vacation! Kenika [Only registered and activated users can see links. Priceline is great for hotels! We stayed in Chicago for two nights at a three-star DoubleTree hotel for only $25 per night!!! There's no way a travel agent could have gotten us that deal (and believe me, I tried my agent). This was great, because all the Chicago hotels are so expensive, and we just didn't want to pay $115 per night. Priceline isn't great for airfare unless you don't mind layovers and your travel plans are flexible. |
