| Can anyone help me find ways to collect American Airline miles? My Brother lives out of state and I am trying to collect miles for him to come visit us. Since I now have two small children it is very hard for me to get to see him.I know that there are miles on boxes of cereal and we've done some of that but 24,000 miles will take a lot of cereal. Anyone collecting these and not using them? Any other suggestions for collecting miles?

| Don't bother eating them. Just donate. (Plus you get to write off the donation). Of course you have to get them when on sale otherwise its not worth all the hassle/money spent. But it all depends on where he is flying from/to and when. It may be better to just buy the tickets. They are on cereal, nutrigrain bars, poptarts, waffles. Have you looking into getting the double mile certs (where 500 miles=1000 miles)? |

| They are certs that were posted in a flyer at Publix (grocery chain in FL, GA, maybe some other states down there). Each cert. can be mailed in with the standard 5 AA certs to double your miles from the normal 500 to 1000. Thus, instead of 25000 miles for a domestic ticket (which is what you are looking for), you just need 12500 miles and 25 of those certs. The certs expire 4/31/01 I believe. I think colleenmf had some to offer on the FSOT board. I can send you a couple that I have extra if you want them. |
