Looking for a deal on luggage

Saw the Bill Blass luggage at Staples for $79.99. Is this good? Is there something else around that is better?

I took a look and it is hard to tell what it is made of.Be careful! When I was looking for luggage in stores, sometimes the fabric was torn at the corners! It obviously wouldn't hold up under regular use.The staples price seems really good especially if you are using a coupon,(maybe too good to be true) but then again if the quality is not good...
We have one large piece that we bought at target for $99 that has held up VERY well.(surprise!) But $99 for one piece may seem high.You would be better off if you could SEE the piece because there is such a variation in quality and price.

Do you have a Sam's club near you? I bought a set there over a year ago that has held up great on several trips- both international and domestic. I don't think they have the same set now, but I'm pretty sure they still carry SOMETHING. My 6 pc set was 150.00.
OK I had to go look it up.Here is a set they have online at a whopping $469 , but it may give you an idea of what to look for as far as materials...I think they may have cheaper sets in the stores. I don't remember seeing this high price. I hope something here may help you as I didn't really answer your question.

i found great "deals" at stern's & macy's on clearance luggage. airport carousels can be brutal on suitcases, so if you're going to use them for air travel, check for rubber reinforced corners, and at least a 5 year warranty. (for comparison purposes, i bought 2 samsonite softsided med uprights for under $13 each - orig $75 each - at stern's in the clearance section. saw the same pieces in a mall luggage store on sale $60 per.)
