Question

We are having major problems with our 1996 Dodge Caravan and must look for another car soon. BTW , I would not suggest this vehicle model to anyone since it has been a LEMON since we purchased it 5 years ago. Just now got it paid off. Does anyone know of any deals whereby we could get a discount coupon on the internet for a Ford or Chevy product? Or any test drive deals? I would truly appreciate it. We have a son in college and need to be careful about our bills - but everyone knows how that is. Thanks.

beffie has great potential
Post

Just a quick note:
My sister bought a 1988 Nissan Sentra brand new, when she bought a new car I "inherited" the Nissan...In 11 years the exhaust(muffler/tailpipe) needed changed twice, it went through a few sets of tires, 2 batteries, and "regular" maintenance (oil, etc.). That's all it needed in 11 years...then it "died" in basically one day at the ripe old "age" of 120,000 miles.
Nissan's are good cars. But the parts are expensive.
I noticed you didn't mention Ford...

ditto on the "nissans are good cars". i've never known of anyone that was displeased with their Nissan vehicle, & they seem to go on FOREVER.
BUT, do be very careful of which dealer you go with. they have some of the worst ratings for dealers in the industry (our attorney general had a few hundred complaints on one in particular, icluding criminal acts such as forgery - e.g. changing prices & signing customers' names, etc. a few other local Nissan dealers had lots of complaints, but that one was the worst). unfortunately, the Nissan co will not offer their customers aid in a dispute with a dealer, as dealers are independent and Nissan only provides them with the vehicles. (as per Nissan Co)

check your local consumer affairs, as well as recommendations from friends. there are reputable Nissan dealers, but you may have to do a little 'legwork' to find them.
good luck!
