your post. I'm going to Florida (Orlando airport) for 7 days and am looking for a midsize rental car. We also need a child restraint seat and all the ones I've checked out so far are charging 6-7 dollars a day for one. (By the end of the trip that alone will be 36-42 dollars YIKES!! I don't want to bring my own to much hassle.) So if anyone can also help me out I'd appreciate it. Again sorry for butting in on your post. Where are you traveling to? ![]()

Your best bets for discounts would be the discount codes offered on each of the car rental companies web sites. Don't forget to try sites such as travelocity or priceline. I've heard of people getting some very cheap rentals. For more info on how to bid on priceline you can visit: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] I have visited the site and found some interesting reading, but have yet to use priceline for anything so I cannot offer any personal experience. Some codes I've pulled from another site for you to plug in and try(no idea about expiration date, a good deal or a bust, etc): Hertz: AAAGAS free tank of gas w/ weekend rental (3 day min. @ 29/day) or weekly rental ($199) of full size car (Ford Taurus or similar) exp. 6/28/01 Avis: D002807 5-20% A108300 Costco # A359844 MUGB560 TUGE503 A549100 K264600 K264602 K374907 Budget: V744900 T557538 X251000

If you have an entertainment book(happenings) you may be able to get an additional discount on your rental. Jennifer- re: car seat We rented one in Alabama and it was almost too small for our son, but we didn't have a choice-it was their last one. I was very uncomfortable with that. When we went to Orlando, we took a car seat and stroller and both went on the plane as luggage.Leave the car seat when you check in your luggage.(curbside works well and worth the tip-it would be MUCH cheaper than the rental and eliminates the hassle)The stroller went on from the plane door. It might be a good idea to try the Dollar rental as you have to take a shuttle to other rental places...not bad but more hassle.
