| I am looking for scooters for my father in law to purchase for our kids. (his idea) I have been a little scared of getting them hearing about all the kids injuries from riding them. Does anyone have any advice on what to look for, for safety's sake?

| Well if you ask my husband, no scooter is safe. After Christmas the prices for Razor Scooters dropped, so I asked my husband what he thought about getting one for our son who turns 6 this May. My husband said no way. Every week he says he hears of another bad accident. Perhaps your children are older then mine, or live on a less busy street. Whatever you decide, PLEASE make sure they wear a helmut. And personally, I'd buy a well made one like the Razor Scooter. Good luck. |

| My son has a folding scooter. He just informed that something is missing(?) and it is folding on him as he rides. If you don't need a folding scooter maybe you would want to stay away from that issue. Personally,I like the wider ones that are built more like a bike. They may even have hand brakes. They seem like they would be easier to manage. I think they are more expensive. I don't know how COOL they are or for that matter how SAFE they are, but they seem much sturdier. Helmet and elbow or knee pads might be good. |
