We recently fixed the computer in my son's classroom but they still don't have a printer. Where could I get a low-cost or no-cost printer? It doesn't even need to be new.

Why not try for the gold? Microsoft is very involved with providing computers to schools and some education-related non-profit groups. They recently outfitted out local library with a suite of new computers and printers.

Not sure who you would apply to, but it would obviously be worth the effort to check with Microsoft and some of the computer makers. You certainly have nothing to lose here and could come away with great equipment.

As another option, check with any larger offices (i.e. bank operation centers, etc.) about used printers. You could also try computer repair shops and used computer dealers (i.e. Computer Renaissance-type places).

also, you may want to try local/state/fed government offices. they (frequently) have the option of donating office equip to non-profits rather than selling it to a private individual or company.
our school rec'd some pc's from a fed gov office nearby that way.
good luck!

What kind of printer and how low cost do you want? Cheap, slow inkjets are often found for $50 or less after rebate, and you get the benefit of having a warranty. They are practically giving them away to get you hooked on buying their expensive cartridges. And that's the rub for a school, who can generate a LOT of printouts from a printer.
