Angry

Does anyone know where I can get one of those can openers that don't leave sharp edges? Has anyone tried them?

One of my two-year-olds cut his hand on a can lid last night and needed three stitches. If these things really work I have got to get one. I wish I had gotten one before this happened....It was really a very deep cut.

TIA

I was in Amazon.com looking around when I saw your post..they have one, but I didn't realize they cost that much..I will keep an eye open for any of the sites which may be having some great saving deals. Don't forget if you do decide to purchase this, go thru DOD's link to Amazon

The Deluxe Safety LidLifter is the perfect 7-inch kitchen tool for anyone tired of dodging the jagged edges of cans and lids. Unlike conventional openers, the Safety LidLifter cuts into a can below the rim of the lid, so there are no sharp edges, the blade never touches the food, and the final turn of the crank doesn't inconveniently drop the lid into the can's contents. The turning mechanism works smoothly for both right- and left-handers, and the soft turning knob provides a comfortable grip. Best of all, the cute puffin-beak-shaped lifting clamp means you never have to touch a lid.

OMG...how insensitive of me...how's the little guy doing? I think I would have been freaking out more than the child. I have three boys and I hold my breath when I have to examine the latest "boo-boo". I've cut my fingers myself from those pesky lids...I was trying to avoid emptying the trash for another day and pushed down and "OUCH"..came across one of those sharp suckers..didn't need stitches tho. Give him a get well hug from me. I can't blame you for wanting a new can opener now!

Robert~~
Here it is for $8.95...$15.90 shipped?? I bet you could probably find it at walmart, kmart or somewhere like that for a lot cheaper. Or even pricematch it on the web. There are a lot of sites you can search to get the best price but my mind is blank right now. LOL I would call department stores first.
You said ...one of your 2 year olds...Do you have twins?? Sorry about your son. Poor little guy!!
In the continental USA, add 17% of the total product cost. The minimum shipping charge is $6.95. (If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, you must email us for a quote.)

I always worry about someone doing that in the trash can. I always put the lid inside the can and if a glass gets broke I put it in a paper bag and then put it in the trash.
