We got a great deal on a refurbed Tom Tom 720 from Amazon. I travel constantly for work, and it's been a real treasure for it tell me turn-by-turn how to get somewhere I've never been. It also has points of interest, and flags lodging, meals and gas along the way.

The TomTom GO 930 GPS is very nice, but a little bit pricey.

Re: Suggest "GPS" for car

I did not get one for Xmas but was hoping for a Tom Tom.

I think the biggest difference in most of them is the voice to text. If you want
one that tells you the street names get voice to text. If this is not a big deal to you than get one of the cheaper versions.
