Need help finding laptop deal!

My son is in the USAF and soon will be going to Germany for 2 years. He just graduated basic in Nov 00 and currently is in Tech school so I am looking for a good deal on a laptop computer so he can keep in touch with mom while he's away. I would apppreciate any assistance anyone can give. TIA!

I bought a WinBook a few years back. They are pretty descent.Mine is a Pentium II 233 Mhz, and it still runs strong. (Of course, it runs Linux now)

You should use one of the comparison shopping tools. Ebates uses mySimon.com's comparison shopper engine. You then can shop through ebates.com site and get a rebate back on your purchase...if you're going to shop online, anyways...might as well get a deal, eh?
