Where can I get a remote car starter CHEAP?

Can anyone tell me where I can get a remote car starter cheap? I found one at Carparts.com for $139, then I get $30 off. There's not much of a description there though, at all, so I'm not 100% positive that it is exactly what I want or can use with my 2000 Beetle.

I'm just getting a bit tired of going out in this frigid, snowy, blowy winter weather to start my car, go back in, then brave the elements again to get back in my car.

I'd appreciate any and all suggestions! Thanks!

I spent alot of time looking at these before xmas.They have them for $50-$60 at Target and they were on sale every week.I wanted to buy one for my husband's 2000 300M.I was told that on newer cars they can goof up the electronics. Installing one could also affect your warranty. If you havent already, I would suggest contacting your dealer to see if you would have any problems. I gave up on the idea...

Thanks for the information~ I did think I had seen them somewhere for around $50. I didn't even think about them messing up my car's electronics. It's due for a 'check-up,' so I'll ask them when I take it in.

Unless your very handy I suggest getting it professionaly installed they run between $99 & $150 in NJ.

My DH is VERY handy. His father owned a gas station (which was called a 'service' station in those days - remember those??) and he worked many hours there. That doesn't mean that he can install this, but I'd be willing to place bets that he can.

However, if I can get it installed for even $150, I wouldn't put him through it. I'll see, but remember, it's a VW.....nothing is cheap when it comes to service on those! (But it's soooo fun to drive!)
