Re: Gift wrap

Is the dollarstore online? Check also [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now], you NEVER know what they're going to have and it's always reasonable. Their write-ups are hilarious.
If you can use gift bags, [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] has some nice ones in her clearance page, though it's not a wrapping paper site, she's got the colored bags in 1/2lb and 1 lb for a good buy.

Re: Gift wrap

The best recommendating that I can make is in the future, plan ahead! Every year, I hit the after Christmas sales at Wal-Mart, our local groceries, the drug stores, and etc. Before shopping, I check my stock of gift wrap and see how much I have left, so I know how much I need and buy accordingly. By shopping at the after holiday sales in preparation for the following year, instead of paying $5 and up for a nice roll, I usually spend $1 or less, depending on the type and style of the paper.

I stock up on tape, gift tags, bows, and anything else I may need. I also make sure to pick up some pretty paper that does not have santas and such all over it, so I have a generic type for wedding, birthday, baby shower and etc. gifts throughout the year.

Since I started doing this years ago, I have never had to worry about not having gift wrap when needed, no matter what the occasion that arises, and I never have to spend an outrageous amount on it.

During last years after Christmas sales, my husband even found one of those plastic gift wrap storage bins on sale and grabbed it for me. So now, it is all organized and easy to find any time I need it.

Re: Gift wrap

I sure agree with the recommendation for planning ahead.
I do a ton of thrift store/yard sale shopping and it's common for me to find an unopened roll of gift wrap for 25 cents. This past spring, I hit an estate sale and bought a box full for a buck! Yes, one dollar, most were unopened, there were 47 jumbo rolls in that box. LOL now I have all the gift wrap that I will ever need.

Re: Gift wrap

There's a big difference between being cheap & saving cash! I've rec'd gifts in the store bags taped up which just makes the gift not as special (to me anyway).

Get 75% off xmas wrap after xmas most stores! If storing is a problem, just hit the Dollar Store for all your needs!

I have a leftover 4 pk (80 feet) for next year & 3 rolls of tape, or 2 scotch brand are a buck year round.

I also got really cool 7" square, (4" deep) hard reuasable boxes that say "Born to Shop" & have shoes, boots & purses all over them for birthdays & just need a ribbon.

Got a 7" box (pink paislie top with jewels) for a perfume bottle that made that gift more special for m sis' in law!

The perfume bottle I bought "in a paper bag for $5.00 total" at a Kitty Angels yard sale that was wrapping up for the day. (Originally they priced it at $3.00). So for the $5.00 bag - I "totally made out"! I also got a BRAND NEW tags & all) small train case style jewelry travel case for another gift too & lots of corelle & utensils for our camper.

Perfume bottle is hand painted & 14K gold trimmed & in NEW shape & (long dipper). Had made in Egypt lable on it & lesser quality, less painted one at mall was $23.00!

My sis'in law goes to estate sales, yard sales for perfume bottles 'cuz she collects them, but she probably thought I bought her gift for $30.-$35.00 at a gift boutique 'cuz of the box! Plus it showed her I bought her what she likes even tho' I've been laid off since July!

Good thought, great price, totally loved & much thanks!

Re: Gift wrap

This isn't wrapping paper, but since you mentioned perfume bottles, look here:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] - they're jewelry making stuff, but they off and on, carry fairly inexpensive, and gorgeous perfume bottles.
