Bemidji to Phoenix Travel HELP - Car Rental & Northwest Flight

Living in Northern Minensota has some disadvantages. I am forced to travel on Northwest Airlines/Mesaba and the costs are outrageous!!!

I also have no idea how to find a good deal on a rental car while in AZ. Travel dates are 10/4/06 - 10/10/06

If anyone can help me save some money in these two areas I would greatly appreciate it. I am a new member and single mother of 2 children. I will be traveling alone for a family matter.

Hi Micah,

I know what you mean about getting travel deals up here-I live about a hour from Bemidji. I've had good luck gettting rental cars through Hotwire. Not sure if you'll have time to watch for deals. We've always flown out of Minneapolis so I'm not sure about flight deals from Bemidji. Also being less than a month before traveling it may be tricky finding a good deal but I will see what I can find. What are the prices at now? Have you thought about flying out of Fargo? May not be much of a difference but may be worth a try.

I just noticed the Northwest Airlines e-certificates-not sure how they work or what the restrictions are but that may be an option.

I don't know what you've gotten for flight rates, but I got $434.00 on Travelocity.com and if that's not too bad, they also will book a car for you. Is this more than what you've found?

Hi Micah,

I travel NWA quite abit but I'm not in a rural area like your are. Have you called nwa 800-225-2525, they are very helpful. One thing I did learn is if you travel one day on the week-end its a better price.
