Lasik Vision Institute

I am looking for any web links, promotional codes, coupons, basically anything with specials or deals to Lasik Vision Institute! My husband is getting lasik done soon and we were told if we can find a price and can print it out or have a sheet documenting it then we can get that price and he has a stigmatism so his are $1000 anything would help! Thanks so much!

Be extremely wary of LVI. They are essentially used car salesmen. When you talk with the "customer counselor", ask him/her what medical background they have, and why they are making the recommendations they do. Try Google'ing for Lasik Vision Institute and see what kinds of complaints and problems you turn up.

I suggest finding an independent surgeon who will care about you personally, rather than a national chain that is only interested in the bottom line.

To me, the words "eye surgery" and "lowest cost" just don't belong in the same sentence.

Re: Lasik Vision Institute

did you personally know of any serious problems? There are some friends of our family who got theres done @ LVI and love the results. I did google them and all i could come up w/ were complaints from other Lasik places complaining about LVI's prices. Please share more in detail information. I need the inside scoop. I really don't want my boyfriend to do it, not one bit, but his mother and him are so sure it will be fine...ANY information you can provide would be of help.!!
Thanks.

Hi,

I just happened to see this and you might want to read this article; though it "is" from 2003. At least it is something.......

The other thing you and your boyfriend could do, and this is just a suggestion - would be to get a second opinion from an eye surgeon that has a good reputation. Just a thought...in any case, God Bless and Good Luck. Let us know how you make out,

Kat

PS - Just found this, there are four articles about the surgery here:

If you can't get all of that into your browser, go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] and do a search for Lasik Vision Institute, oops, didn't realize that link was so long!

Re: Lasik Vision Institute

so its the day after his surgery and things are going very well. My boyfriend before the surgery could literally see about 1ft in front of him (when not wearing contacts or glasses) and thats about it. Now he can see quite far, although still not enough to be 20/20, HOWEVER...it is only one day after the surgery and it can take up to 3 months to get full vision...I don't know if I would reccommend this place to anyone but I am glad to know that TJ came out okay as of late...I will keep updating his condition

I think that's really good news! You must have been so worried - I had cataract surgery w/laser and my eye surgeon did one eye at a time - the first one was scary! The second, I knew it wasn't bad at all.
I know how he felt about not being able to see much w/out his glasses, it is not fun! And I still wear glasses (allergic to contacts!)..
I'd think of it this way - if he's doing this good the day after the surgery, cuz any surgery is a shock to your system, no matter what it is - he'll do "great" as time goes on.... that's wonderful news and thanks for the update - when I logged on, this was the first post I checked
This is funny too.....when I first went to the eye surgeon (my Aunt recommended him as she'd used him), I told him I was allergic to everything - and he didn't really believe me. First he swiped my eye w/the little bit of eye dye (told him I was allergic to ALL dyes), and my eyes were tearing really bad and the stuff just dripped out and down my face and BURNED.
Then, in preparation for the surgery, he gave me antibiotic drops....told him I only knew of one antibiotic that I could take and it wasn't that one.... allergic to that too. LOL Stopped taking it.
I also didn't want any drugs to either relax or put me to sleep (that went over really bad), till he saw that I was allergic to the other stuff, then he said to me, "OK, you can stay awake, just "don't move"!!!!!!
He put on my chart (I saw it) afterwards, This patient is allergic to everything known to man and some things that aren't!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heck, I could have told him that!
So glad TJ is doing so well

Kat

Re: Lasik Vision Institute

Hello from a newbie!
Hi out there. I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I’ve been searching the web for info about lasik and found this board. I’ve never thought about joining a board before, but after reading through some posts, I’m happy I did. I just want to say thanks to everyone for the support you offer here.
