I would need to know if you plan on using the computer for the latest 3-D games. For Value the Celerons are a interesting choice. You might want to consider the e-machines which has a 566 celeron deal for $399, but you will need to buy a additional 32 mb of memory so you have 64mb of memory-also this doesn't include a monitor-15 inch is ok, but I would go for 17 inch. Check out shopper.com or killerapp.com . The earlier emachines had a problem with power supplies-actually this was a fan issue. Which the newer units are suppose to have corrected this problem. |

I saw a computer set..moniter, cpu, etc..cant remember brand, but it was at the Walmart B&M store for 950.00. I thought it was a great deal...worth checking. Maybe they have it online as well? ------------------ Samantha... [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] It's your story, you tell it. |

Hey if you dont mind a refurbished machine be sure to check out [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or
Register Now] they have had some pretty decent setups in the 300-500-700 range and you can extend the warranty up to 3 years also. My husband bought an IBM from them for about 1/3 of the brand new price and it had dvd player, cdwriter and 550 mhz 20gb hard drive and the works. We have had no problems whatsoever with it. We went with the 3 year extended warranty since we have little ones in the house, but its been great! Good Luck in Finding a great deal!!! ![]() ------------------ My name says it all.... ***~ILUV2SHOP~*** ILUV2SHOP@dealofday.com |

I bought two PCs last year, one for me and one for my mom. They were both from Egghead and each under $400. The brand name is Cumetrix, and we have been in love with them ever since. Now, these don't come with a monitor or an operating system, but those are easy to pick up. Make sure though, that you check to see what they include...some don't come with hard drives (I guess people like to buy their own or already have decent ones?). So, you could get a pretty decent PC package for under $600. Now, if you are looking for simple, I have seen awesome deals on complete systems at Sam's Club...I think one was $599 for PC, monitor and printer with a 500 mhz processor. That's not bad. Here is a link to one I found [Only registered and activated users can see links. I don't want to start a debate here, but don't forget about Macintoshes. Apple makes an iMac now for $799 for specs, go to: [Only registered and activated users can see links.
