Rolling eyes

I just bought in august.... the eddie bauer car seat...... for TODDLERS... and my son.... has outgrown it.

I need suggestions and Deals(?) on one that goes past 40# and can accomodate his height. His shoulders are past the top slots on the EB.

I really need this soon.. it scares me that he is not protected. Any help is great appreciated! TIA

Julie

All children should be in booster seats until they are 80 pounds or more. This is not the law but it is the National Highway Safety recommendation.I always look up in the library the most recent report on carseats or boosters and then I go and get that particular one.I have never been disappointed.I paid 56 bucks in a B&M for our booster. It is a Cosco seat.Take your kid with you to size it and then go to your local participating fire station and they can help you to be sure of how to install it.85% of carseats are not installed properly. And remember always put kids 12 and under in the backseat.Never the front.Even if there is no air bag kids are safer in the back.Maybe I am a little over the top but I love my kids too much to let something I can prevent happen to them.Good luck

I totally agree with budvann. In our area(NW FL) there are several agencies that do carseat safety checks and they actaully give you a car seat if yours in inadequete for your child. I've gotten two for free(have a 20month old and 3 1/2 yr old). It's nice to have 2 seats in each car because I know they are secure after having them installed correctly. I have the Cosco booster seat that will be good until 80lbs as well. Also, check with your car insurance company, some will give rebates for having car seats. Mine, USAA gives a $25 rebate for each seat, even my parents were able to get it as well since they use the same insurance company. Good luck!!!

We have 3 seats in our van...all the same for our children ages 7,4 and 15 months. It is a seat made by Cosco. It runs about $35-$40 and is available at Walmart and K-mart and probably ToysRus B&M stores. It can be used as a 5 point restraint for children up to 40 lbs and as a booster if you remove the 5 point straps. Works great for us and the price is right. You really can't outgrow this seat. It is a booster to be used with the seatbelt after you remove the straps used for younger children. The color is a dark blue plastic with a darkblue/grey seat cover which can easily be removed for washing. Hope this helps.

Re: I need help finding a deal on a carseat..... desperately

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] are the car seats that can suit kids having a range of height 38 inches -60 inches and weight ranges 30 pounds - 100 pounds. These can stretched to suitable height as per requirement of children.

Re: I need help finding a deal on a carseat..... desperately

I got mine at a B&M store baby sale, all of mine are Britax since I wanted the kids in harness longer.Since my son when he was little could unbuckle a seatbelt. The best carseat is the one you will use everytime you have kids in the car.Your carseat needs to fit your car, your child's size/weight, your child's age and your budget.A friend of mine who is very short adult uses a booster and peddle extenders to drive, she likes the costco as it does not block side view and is comfortable.
