Party Supplies Help

I am currently planning my son's first birthday party for February 19. We were able to get the local first aid building and expect 30-40 guests. Now I just need to get all the supplies together. I've never really thrown a party before, and am looking for guidance as to where to order the supplies, and if anyone has any ideas about quantities of cups, napkins, etc. I'll need that would be really helpful. I plan to get the food at Costco, so at least that is one thing I don't have to worry about!

I don't know if you do any business on ebay, but that's where I always get my party supplies for my boys' parties. They usually want a specific theme, and it's so expensive at party stores. I can usually find big packs of party supplies (cups, napkins, plates, favors, etc.) on ebay for 60% less.

Have you checked Costco to see if they have supplies? Were you looking for a first birthday theme, or just plain?

I'm not really sure about the amount. You always want to error on the side of more. (If things come in packs of 12, you'll probably want to go up to 48 - but more napkins since some people use more than one.) Same with cups. People set theirs down and forget where, so take another.
