Question

Hello,
I am currently using Sprint as my long distance service provider. They are charging crazy prices between 0.10 to 0.25 a minute. But I do not pay a monthly fee. I usually have about 90.00 worth of long distance fees a month. I would really appreciate help finding a better long distance program. And an incentive to switch would be nice too. If anyone has any advice please give it.
Thanks

I use AT&T, i get $.05 a min anytime, weekday and weekends. That for out state calls, instate i receive $.06 a min and toll charges i receive $.05 a min.... You must ask for this deal if its still avable for poeple!! This is not the same deal they offer were you only get $.05 a min after 7:00 pm, this is all the time. I pay $8. or $9. a month for this service!!

There are several long distance plans I found that will save on your long distance bills. Some of them have no monthly fees or low monthly fees(eg. $ 1.99 or $ 2.oo/mon. and the fees are waived if you bill is more than $ 20, in you case you don't pay these fees because your bills are over $ 20). Check out on the following plans and select one best plan for you according to your calling pattern. 1. Capsule Communications. 2. OPEX 3. Planet Earth 4. IPhoneBill 5. Unitel [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

I've been an AT&T customer for years and years -- never spend much on LD except for calling card calls on occasional trips out of town.

I got a promotion in the mail a months ago for MCI/Worldcom; it was a Blockbuster giftcard ($40 or $50) they'd activate when you switched to MCI, then they had some kinda cheap after hours rate and a monthly minimum of $5 or so. I kept it for two months, then switched to Sprint to get the 1,000 MyPoints.

Two days later, MCI called and said they'd pay me to switch back and would give me .06 anytime and with no fees or monthly minimums.

I'd only been with them for two months and had only spent maybe $15 in LD!

Might be worth it to join MCI for two months then switch elsewhere, and wait for MCI to come begging.

It's possible that you can play the switching game all the time just to save few bucks but you also face the possibility of quality of new LD provider and misrepresentation of the plan the new provider offers especially they do telemarketing over the phone. I had played these games before and I was very tired of keeping switching LD providers. Finally I realized all I need is a reasonable cost (if not the lowest rate) plan and a good reliable LD provider. Here I found the best plan according to my calling pattern, IPhoneBill. It is an on line billing and TRUE COST plan (You only get billed for what you used). My June and July phone bills were $ 0 (no costs at all) because I didn't make any long distance calls for these two months. What a deal. [Only registered and activated users can see links.
