need help radio code

what's up guys. i got a kenwood headunit. but recently my batery got screwed and now i need a code in order to get my cdplayer to work.
i heard there is a universal code that can get my cd player to work. but i searched everywhere and i could not find it. shops as for $20 for the code and kenwood asks about $50. since i am a student i got no $$$$$$ to pay of either of them.
so any of u guys know any place where i can get a universal code for my kenwood please help me out.
