Mushroom kits?

Anyone have any experience with using a mushroom kit? I've seen them in various catalogues through the years, and thought this year I'd like to send one to my gourmet-cook sister for Christmas.

I did a google search and turned up dozens of sites that claim to sell them, and I don't know where to start. I want to buy from someone reputable, and of course for the best possible price.

Any experience out there? Any suggestions? Thanks!
