I'm actually not sure.....Perhaps a moment of silence will be observed. I already bought flag t-shirts for both boys. You can bet we will show our patriotism that day! I'd like to light a candle too in memory of those who perished ![]() __________________ Check out these [Only registered and activated users can see links. | I've been wondering about the same thing.
It seems we should do SOMETHING! I just don't know what. I honestly want to keep my boy home from school that day, and observe a national day of mourning, but I don't know if I will. Maybe it's better to keep him in his usual routine. I think we should have some sort of ceremony to honor the dead. |

Hmmmm... just realized something... That's the day my brother is traveling by plane from NJ - CA for a conference giving a paper. He told me a while back about his plans to come out west... forgot that was THE day.

It took a long time to get those images out of my head since we watched them over and over for weeks. I don't want to go through that again. I'll have my moment of silence and prayers. |

I will not be caught up in the whole terrorisim rememberance. I have a 7 year old who will be celebrating his 8th birthday and I refuse to let a dark cloud overshadow what should be a happy day for him. |

I will turn 31 that day. The terrorist attacks made me not think too much about turning 30 last year. Way too much going on to feel bad about being 30, just feeling glad to get to be 30! |

I don't think we are doing anything special here in our town. I don't even know of any businesses that will be closed. __________________ [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

I'm torn. On the one hand, it seems fitting to do something. On the other hand, why should it take the anniversary of a tragic event to remember the dead? And how many years before we stop remembering? How often do we hold vigils for those who gave their lives in war? How often is a day monopolized by the news to help us remember past wars....those who never made it home for one reason or another. We were patriotic before the attacks and we will continue to be patriotic. Other than that, I just don't know. Jackie
