OTC MIGRAINE MEDS COMPARE THE LABELS...

Had to run to Walmart the other AM to get Migraine meds for S_Breeze1 . And compared the labels and the ingredients on various brands including the cheaper store brand in this case it is the "Equate" brand. She has been using "Excedrin Migrane " for a long time now.
Never having checked the labels before myself. I didn't know this either Other then a major difference in price between the major brands and store brands I figured there had to be a difference in the ingredients RIGHT?? Well I looked at the store brand and compared the ingredients of the there regular version of "excedrin" and the "excedrin migraine" Well there absulutly no difference 250mg Tylenol 250mg asprin 65mg caffiene.
I bought the regular version didn't tell her and her headache went away "I had to find out if it worked " sorry hunny but it did work and we saved gobs of cash too.. 100 coated tablets $2.27 regular version. 100 coated caplets $4.47 "Migraine version" Saved $2,20 all because I compared the labels and the single "WORD" migraine. So in closing all I will say in look look look maybe just maybe the pharmasutical companies will get the hint oneday that we have had enough of the price gouging........ "SAME PILL DIFFERENT SHAPE DIFFERENT LABEL ADD A WORD CHARGE A HIGHER PRICE" = CONSUMER RIPOFF........ NUFF SAID

I use the equate face lotion...comes in a bottle and looks and smells like Oil Of Olay. A bottle of it is $2.27.

I'd like to share my experience....I started getting migraines a couple years ago....started out I'd get them a couple days a week, then it started escalating to the point that I'd have a migraine EVERY afternoon...the pain was bad enough but then even that started escalating to seeing the haloes and feeling nauseous.

I kept going to the primary care doctor who just saw me as a stressed out working mom (ie. 'hysterical whining woman') and he put me on migraine medications, which did help, but one was extremely strong and I'd be afraid to drive...so the choice was, be disabled by pain, or be trapped at home.
I worked outside the home then, and it was all I could do to get through the workday and I just wanted to get home and lie down .... there was no family life, I was missing out on time with the kids, I got depressed, I gained weight, in short...it was a nightmare.

I finally took charge of my medical care and went to another physician and I told her I'd like to see either an allergist or an ENT (Ear Nose Throat specialist)...I didn't know exactly what was going on, but I knew what I was dealing with wasn't normal and I didn't feel the solution was to be drugged....I wanted to get to the root cause of the problem, not just cover it up.

So I went to the ENT and she looked up my nose and said 'well you have a deviated septum for one thing..." and she assured me that I wasn't going crazy...I had more tests and an MRI...turns out I had all kinds of things wrong with my sinuses, the deviated septum turned in on the turbinates and this triggered the migraines. I had surgery a year and a half ago, and I've had maybe two headaches since then!

It's really worth being checked out by an ENT specialist!!!
I feel like that surgeon saved my life....and at least now I have a life!
